 HIPs - Home Information Packs - Helping to reassure your Buyers Home Information Pack (HIPs) duties have applied to all residential properties in England and Wales marketed since 14th December 2007 and from the 1st October 2008 private landlords will be required to find an Energy Assessor to provide Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for any property let to tenants - (Details) . Properties marketed for sale in England and Wales need a Home Information Pack. The Pack includes an Energy Performance Certificate, containing advice on how to cut carbon emissions and fuel bills. Also included are documents such as a sale statement, searches and evidence of title. If you're a buyer, you should ask for a Home Information Pack, which contains an Energy Performance Certificate and a number of other compulsory documents. If you're a seller, you need to make sure you have commissioned a HIPs Pack by the time that you market your property.
